Code of Conduct

Kemur Equestrian Camp’s Code of Conduct

It is our commitment to provide a rewarding and memorable camping experience for all campers. Two large factors that impact a child’s stay at camp are the staff and fellow campers.

  1. Staff are bound by the rules and regulations outlined in the Staff Manual and can jeopardize their employment by actions contrary to these guidelines.
  2. In order to ensure acceptable behaviour, we ask that parents and campers be aware of proper behaviour and behaviour that can work against the goal of a high-quality camping experience and conduct themselves accordingly. Our staff needs to know that parents are supportive of our efforts and can be relied upon for assistance if necessary.
  3. Campers are expected, in accordance with their age, to take appropriate care of themselves. (Personal hygiene, getting sufficient sleep, practice sun safety by wearing sunscreen/protective clothing, sunglasses and staying hydrated with water.)
  4. Campers must respect the environment, peers, and staff.
  5. Any camper that breaks any of the following in-house rules MAY be sent home based on the seriousness of the offense. If that is the case, there will be NO refund or credit on camp fees.

5.1 Inappropriate behaviour, such as bullying, teasing, harassment, swearing, acts of aggression, pranks, practical jokes or disrespect for other people or the environment are not tolerated at Kemur Equestrian Camp. What may seem harmless to you may have lasting emotional consequences for others.

5.2 Stealing or borrowing other people’s possessions without their consent will not be tolerated.

5.3 Vandalizing or damage to camp property and equipment is a serious offense and will not be tolerated. This includes any damage to bunkhouse, windows, screens, washrooms, kitchen, pavilion, signs, the natural environment, and mistreatment of horses.

5.4 Tampering with any safety devices such as smoke alarms and fire extinguishers is a serious offense and will not be tolerated.

  1. Any camper that breaks any of the following in-house rules WILL be sent home immediately. There will be NO refund or credit on camp fees.

6.1 Smoking, alcohol, marijuana and illicit drugs are strictly prohibited at camp. Campers may not have any cigarettes, drugs or alcoholic beverages in their possession.

6.2 Weapons or any implement that our staff deems dangerous or potentially dangerous are strictly prohibited.
