After a great deal of thought and many conversations, we have decided that it is time for us at Kemur to enter a new chapter in our lives and therefore 2026 will be our final summer. As we look back on 57 amazing summers at Kemur, we are filled with an incredible sense of pride and gratitude. What a remarkable journey it has been!

Kemur has been a place filled with horses, friendship, laughter, muddy boots(read crocs), late nights, big adventures and memories that stay with us long after the summer ends. It has been so much more than a summer camp. It has been a place where children have grown in confidence, where friendships have begun, where counsellors have discovered what they are capable of, and where so many people have had a place that felt like home.

To all of our campers — thank you for bringing Kemur to life. Thank you for the laughter, the enthusiasm, the hugs, the horse stories, the silly moments and for being exactly who you are. Watching you arrive as nervous beginners and leave a little more confident, independent and proud of yourselves has been one of the greatest joys of Kemur.

To our incredible staff and counsellors — there simply are not enough words to thank you. You have given so much of yourselves to Kemur and to our campers. You have stayed up late, gotten up early, solved problems, dried tears, laughed until your stomachs hurt, taught riding lessons, cleaned tack, sung songs, played games and created the kind of summers that children remember for the rest of their lives. Kemur would never have been what it was without you.

And to the families who chose Kemur, year after year — thank you for trusting us with your children. We know what a privilege that is, and we have never taken it for granted.

It is hard to put 57 years into words. There are simply too many stories, too many faces, too many horses and too many moments that have made Kemur what it is. The beautiful thing is that those memories don’t disappear because camp is no longer running. They belong to all of us.

We are incredibly grateful for every summer, every camper, every counsellor, every horse and every family who has been part of this very special place.

With love and enormous gratitude,

Lee, Brian and Erin
