Testimonials

My daughter was in session 8 of camp. You may recall that this was her first year and I think I was more nervous than she was. You see this was the first time she was away at overnight camp and I was a bit of a wreck.  I think I lost a few days of sleep!

When we picked her up she gave us a three-page letter capturing all the reasons why I should put her for camp next year; not only for one week but for 2 or more weeks instead! She could not stop talking about her horse, her new friends, counsellors and of course the food.

Thank you for giving my daughter such a wonderful first experience of camp. I will certainly recommend your camp to all the horse moms I know.

My daughter has spent 7 summers at Kemur and it has been a defining experience in her life. After 19 weeks at Kemur over these 7 years, she now aspires to be a Kemur counsellor.  She has built multi-year friendships (though most are with girls, some of these friendships are actually with horses).   This spring she turned 14 and with many other options on the table, she put them all aside and begged for 4 weeks at Kemur!    She packed herself up with no help at all and couldn’t wait to get there.  Each time we approached the Kemur driveway, we entered what she describes as the “Kemur Bubble”, (a really magical place for these young girls.)   Having gone to a high quality summer camp myself at her age, I think I get what she means…  Kemur is a horseriding camp and mine wasn’t, but Kemur has such a strong program that it brings out the best in these young girls.  It’s super fun, the food is reportedly amazing, and it’s also structured to build character without even having to advertise or talk about it.  Within the horseriding environment, each year, my daughter’s experience has been all about all about friendships, mentorship and incremental opportunities for leadership.  At the end of her four weeks this final summer, I drove into the “Kemur Bubble” to collect her and all her horse stuff and was greeted by a totally grown up girl.  I’m super proud of her and hope she can give back to the girls coming up behind her.
