Working student info

Thank you for your interest in Kemur’s Working Student program. Every summer we require creative and outgoing girls who have a positive and “campy” attitude. Kemur is looking for independent, responsible and horse crazy girls who enjoy working with children.

Working Students should be 15-16 years old.

Applicants should ride year round and receive regular lessons. Girls should possess a breadth of horse knowledge including stable management and saddlery. Daily barn experience such as horse turnout, mucking stalls, and general horse care is an asset.

Working student responsibilities include helping beginner riders’ groom and tack up, kitchen and barn work, as well as counselor assistance. Teaching experience both horse and non-horse related will prove beneficial in this position as girls will be asked to assist counselors during lessons and back up trails throughout the week.

Kemur looks for First Aid as well as Swimming qualifications in the working student selection process.

Girls who participate in the Kemur working student program are taught child care, responsibility and will gain invaluable life skills and working experience.

Please email Lee at info@kemurcamp.com for an application. Working Student positions are limited, and unfortunately we cannot accept everyone who applies. I hope to have all positions filled by March.

Cost of Working Student Program 2010 is $405 per week (taxes included). Cheque to be dated May 1st.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Lee at info@kemurcamp.com or feel free to call me at home 519.621.2212.
